Coming in January 2009. Advances in Optics and Photonics (AOP), a quarterly journal of invited reviews and tutorials, is the newest publication from the OSA. Bahaa E. A. Bahaa E. A. Saleh

Bahaa SalehBahaa E. A. Saleh has a long history with OSA publications, having served as editor of its flagship journal, JOSA A, as the chair of the Board of Editors, the chair of the Publications Council and a member of the Publications Long-Term Planning Group. Saleh has been a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Boston University since 1994. He is Deputy Director of the National Science Foundation Center for Subsurface Sensing and Imaging Systems, an NSF Engineering Research Center. He is also co-director of the Quantum Imaging Laboratory and a member of the Boston University Photonics Center.

Timely publication for authors

Each AOP article is published online immediately upon completion. Published articles are assigned to quarterly issues.

Free introductory access

OSA will provide free introductory access to the journal for a limited time following its launch. AOP tutorials will remain open access. AOP content will be accessible via OSA's Optics InfoBase and AOP's direct website, aop.osa.org.

For more information on AOP or to suggest authors and topics for invited articles, please contact Kelly Cohen, in OSA's publications department, 202.416.1917, kcohen@osa.org. Upon approval, AOP authors will receive submission instructions directly from OSA.

A world-renowned editorial board led by Bahaa Saleh and advised by the distinguished topical editors of all OSA journals will solicit all articles and oversee peer review. Coverage will encompass fundamental and experimental optics along with applications of optics and photonics technology.

Submissions of long reviews and tutorials are invited only. Tutorials will feature interactive components such as animation and video to maximize their reach. Each article will have navigational links and external reference linking for easy sourcing and enhanced learning.
